CV Giving Day is a four-week community giving campaign for Coachella Valley nonprofits, run by Desert Community Foundation. It culminates in 24 hours of giving on Tuesday, March 2, 2027.
$100K+ in prizes — just for showing up
Thanks to our sponsors, more than $100,000 in prize incentives will be awarded to nonprofits across the Valley — from quick $1,000 early giving boosts to $5,000 awards. All prize funds go directly to participating organizations.
Most of those prizes are drawn, not earned on the leaderboard. In 2026, 16 of the 28 prizes awarded were random draws — so a small organization has the same shot as a large one. Being registered is what puts you in the pool.

Who runs CV Giving Day?
CV Giving Day is a program of Desert Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, EIN 95-4725924, serving the Coachella Valley since 1999. It was founded by Desert Community Foundation together with California Bank & Trust.
CV Giving Day does not hold a separate EIN. Donations, financial oversight and reporting all run through the Foundation.
Where does my donation go?
100% of every donation goes directly to the nonprofit you choose, less the credit card processing fee if you choose not to cover it. Desert Community Foundation covers the campaign's platform and operating costs, so no part of a gift is spent running the event.
Sponsor money is separate again: it funds the prize pool, which is awarded directly to participating nonprofits.

Every participating nonprofit has a profile with what they do, who they serve, where they are, and a direct way to give. You can browse by cause or by city across all nine Valley cities.
How does my nonprofit take part?
Registration opens Tuesday, November 3, 2026, on cvgivingday.org.
Registering is the step that matters most. In 2026, 148 of the 172 registered organizations raised money — the hard part is signing up, not succeeding once you have. Registration puts your organization in front of Valley donors for the whole four-week campaign, with a profile in the directory and eligibility for the prize pool.
Registration itself happens on cvgivingday.org, the giving platform, and opens on November 3. Until then — and for everything other than registering — cvgiving.org is where the dates, the directory and the detail live.
